Joe Michalak has attended quite a few churches, from
traditional Catholic to Pentecostal and is now serving and learning at LWCC. His employment background ranges from cook/musician
to enlisted Navy and now Resource Manager with Puget Sound Naval shipyard and
Intermediate Maintenance Facility. In the spring of 2010, he felt a new call from
God to use his Veterans education benefits to learn about God. After some prayer and a few key conversations
with his wife Shelly, he decided to begin a Masters in Ministry Program at
Northwest University. After a touch-and-go
experience with another local church, God led him to Living Word to complete
his internship with Lead Pastor Tim Skolrud. Joe is, also, proud father of Sara, 20, and Hannah
12.
Joe is humbled by the incredible sense of community at
Living Word and is thankful for the way the community, unhindered, has welcomed
him. He will be serving the community for
a few months and seeing the launch of the Port Orchard Community. From there, he says “It’s all up to God”.
