They said YES!

If you missed the 11am service yesterday, I want to share this announcement with you. CrossPoint church voted (95% yes) to join with Living Word Christian Center and become a Multi-site church. We will be one church, but in different locations. So what happens next? First we have to legally become one organization and that is what I will be working on this week. Secondly, we will start to fill out the paperwork needed to complete the loan process. Thirdly, we will begin to schedule the work that needs to be done before the remodel takes place. It will take 45-60 days for the loan to be processed, so our first plan of attack will be to prepare the outside of the building so it can be painted. I will let you know this weekend when we can begin the work.
But first we need to celebrate! So we have invited CrossPoint Church to join us for our annual Living Word/HAD Ministries summer picnic that is being held this Sunday at Evergreen Park from 2-6pm. This will be a good way to start building relationships between our two locations. Please bring a salad, side dish or desert. Living Word will provide the BBQ, plates, silverware and water.
Our second celebration will be a Young at Heart banquet that we will hold at CrossPoint Church on Friday, September 16th. It will be a “Tour of Italy” with Chef Ron Juras. This will be a joint event with people 50 years and older invited from both churches. If you have served at a YAH banquet before or have serving experience, we can use you to help us welcome our new church.
Our goal is to have the new sanctuary ready to have services in January of 2012. Of course I think we can get it done earlier than this, but I am trying to be realistic about this project. I don’t think it would be wisdom to try and start this during the Christmas season, but we might be able to have a few “dress rehearsals” before we open in January.
So now the fun begins!
